Portable HTML Presentations
MindXpres presentations are compiled into portable bundles based on web-technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. This implies that a MindXpres presentation can be run on any device with a modern web browser. There is no need to install any dedicated software. The chosen format also allows presentations to be much more dynamic and interactive on any device, and plug-in developers can make use of the many existing JavaScript libraries while developing content visualisation plug-ins. The bundles can be generated for offline use with all required resources included, or they can be set up to retrieve content remotely at run-time.
The fact that MindXpres presentations are essentially websites also makes it very easy to share the presentation. Simply put the bundle on a web server and anyone can view the presentation in their browser by going to the correct URL. MindXpres also offers plug-ins to allow users at home to play back the presentation as it was given by the presenter. This is especially relevant for non-linear presentations where the content was not traversed in order of appearances. The play-back might also include annotations made by the presenter, voice recording or interactions the presenter performed on interactive visualisations. It's also possible to create weblinks to specific parts of the presentation so that viewers are taken immediately to the relevant content when they click the link.
